Im looking at purchasing a retail premises in Moores Place, Brentwood, There are double yellow lines either side of the road. I asked a traffic warden where i could park and she said i could park right up against the shop as long as my wheels were not over the yellow lines but the double yellow lines are about 3 foot from the side of the shop making this pretty impossible. I will be working up to 10 hours a day 6 days a week and want to know the cheapest way of parking, also are there any business car park spaces i can rent from the council to make it cheaper?

In the Brentwood Gazette (22/3/06) there is an article in the Letters section whereby the author mentions that "THE ROAD TRAFFIC ACT" states that "one is allowed to park on a single yellow line or residential parking bay without a permit or during the prescribed hours in order to help someone get into a building or out of a building that cannot do so themselves" -the elderly, disabled and young children fall into this category....
